World's Fair Train Wreck

Kansas and Missouri Scenes

 

 

The Allen family from Pittsburg, Kansas boarded the train. Two teen-age girls were travelling with the family also. (Three days later, funerals for three Allen family members were held at the Presbyterian Church.)

The train left Pittsburg and crossed into Missouri at the town of Mindenmines. This was referrred to as the Minden - Nevada line on the Missouri Pacific.

The train next stopped at Liberal, Missouri.

Several Bronaugh, Missouri residents were on their way to the fair.

Members of the Ream and Loud families and Lee Doores boarded at Bronaugh.

Funerals for four victims were held at the Methodist Church a few days later.
