McKill Chapel Cemetery

McKill Chapel is the oldest cemetery around Bronaugh. It is five miles west and two miles south of Bronaugh.

McKill Chapel was founded about 1860. The McKill family had moved to that area in about 1859.

McKill Chapel was dedicated on June 16, 1889 by Bishop E. R. Hendrix of Kansas City. The church was on the Moundville circuit of the M. E. Church, South.

Many of the oldest graves in Vernon County are at McKill. The oldest grave appears to be 1859.

Many burials from the McKill, Linn and Fonberg families are found at McKill Chapel.
