Margaret also included this story written by her aunt, Hazel Marlow Crawford.

"William and Nancy Jane Marlow lived on a farm near Jonesburg. Jonesburg was a few miles South of Peru, Kansas, it was a small town with a store, post office and church at that time. My mother and father (John & Mary Marlow) lived on a farm just across the line in Oklahoma. Dad farmed and in the winter months fed cattle for a nearby ranch. They just had the three oldest kids, Gladys, Ray, and Eunice. They told how all three rode one horse up to Jonesburg to get the mail. At this time Grandpa & Grandma (William & Nancy) Marlow owned a small farm east of Jonesburg in the Fowler District. At this time the three kids were getting old enough to go to school and no school was close. Uncle Will Hauger, Mother's oldest brother was running a Blacksmith Shop in Peru and was to teach my father the trade, so the folks moved to Peru, at this time my Mother's folks lived on a farm Southwest of Niotaze in what they called the Sand Hill Country."

John W. and Mary Hauger Marlow were the parents of five children, Gladys May, Ray Noble, Eunice Agnes, Hazel Blanche and Loren Wesley who are pictured below:
