Farmer's State Bank

Richard H. Shera, Sr. wrote: "The picture of the College Corner Bank reminded me that that was the first place I had a Saving Account, that my Grandmother Margaret (AKA Maggie) Harrison Shera started for me. We moved to College Corner from Hamilton in 1945 and that Bank was in the same location at that time. The new Bank wasn't built until sometime in the 1950s. I do remember that one of my Grandmother's cousins was the President of that Bank when the Market Crashed in 1929 and she lost all the money she had put in there the day before, proceeds from the sale of her mother's farm. My Grandfather didn't believe in banks in those days and told her so. He kept his in the mattress. I remember this from stories that I heard them tell."
